Join us at the IoD HQ in London for an unforgettable afternoon of inspirational talks from two leading industry speakers, Ian Windle and Marcus Child. The pair will each share their vision of a culture-centric business landscape and why investing in people should be top priority.
A ‘people first’ theme will guide the day, and we will be hosting a panel session featuring the recent winners of our Top SME Culture Leaders Awards. The winners will share their tips for using company culture to drive business success as well as actively transforming their team’s lives for the better.
You’ll also have the chance to meet some of the Breathe team and exclusively hear from our CEO about our exciting plans for 2020. There will be plenty of opportunity to network – to meet and chat with the rest of Breathe’s user community and exchange ideas, tips and support one another over a spread of lunch we will be putting on.

Jonathan is CEO of Breathe, which he founded seven years ago with a plan to develop a simple and user-friendly HR software to help businesses create engaged and inspired teams. His role at Breathe is to represent the company in the business community and keep abreast of the ways leading companies manage their people. In 2019 Jonathan was named SME Director of the year in the London and South-East IoD awards.
Marcus Child has won 27 top awards, worked in 36 countries and enjoyed 23 years of speaking to business leaders. He inspires confidence, wholeheartedness and courage...and is known for helping thousands of people in hundreds of big brands and SMEs embrace daily life and times of change, positively and successfully.
As well as being a Vistage Group Chair, Ian Windle has worked as a consultant, facilitator and a business speaker in the areas of culture change and organisational development. He has facilitated workshops, spoken at conferences and led change programmes in Europe, US and Asia. In 2018, his first full year as a Vistage Speaker, Ian won both Most In-Demand New Speaker and Outperformer.
Sophie is Breathe’s Head of Customer Success and has worked for the company for the previous 4 years. She looks after the On-boarding and Support teams, coaching and mentoring the managers who are responsible for looking after our customers and ensuring they are happy. As a member of Breathe’s Leadership Team, Sophie is key to driving strategic change, always looking at ways we can make a positive difference to our customers’ lives.
Your compere for the event. As a Partner Account Manager at Breathe, Ewan is responsible for looking after our HR Consultant Partners all over the UK. As part of his role he has the opportunity to meet, greet and truly understand how we can help our consultant Partners grow their business. This includes day to day query and technical support, attending events & expos, providing marketing material and offering webinar/demo training and more.
In a bid to highlight the benefits of investing in workplace culture for UK SMEs, we created the Top 25 SME Culture Leaders campaign. For six weeks in 2019, we opened the nomination desks and called for all UK businesses (1 to 250 employees) to shout about how they look after their people, company and culture. We heard some amazing stories from businesses who – like Breathe – are committed to putting their people first and you’ll be able to hear first-hand from three of our culture leaders.
Janine has over 15 years experience leading transformational HR strategies and managing transactional HR practice across a variety of sectors. Currently Head of People & Culture at Frugi Janine’s remit includes policymaking; strategy development; talent acquisition and retention; engagement; learning and development and much more. Janine is passionate about building positive culture, where people and business can thrive together.
Peter Sutton is the Managing Director of PMW Communications, a full-service marketing agency in West Sussex. He began his career in media sales and saw a gap in the market for creativity in the advertising industry. Pete’s biggest achievements include his two sons, raising over £100,000 whilst being the Chairman of the Dame Vera Lynn charity, completing various charity challenges including the Three Peaks and a 100km walk.
Suzanne Linton is MD and Co-Founder of Freestyle – the digital agency for non-sexy brands. A chartered accountant (who had to start her own agency to escape from the finance team) and a swimming Masters European Record holder, Suzanne brings her view on how a focus on building a strong team of individuals will deliver a great business result. Freestyle is 23 years old, going from the spare bedroom to converted barns, and over that time has had to evolve both its proposition as well as the way the team works together.
